Cold water washes are preferable for your beach towel.You should also skip the fabric softener when giving your beach towel a wash as it can reduce both the absorbency and softness of the material.Also, make sure not to use too much of detergent as it will prevent your towel from rinsing clean.

Try soaking your beach towel in vinegar if it has a musty odour before you put it through the machine. Add one cup of white vinegar to a tub of cold water and leave them to soak for at least an hour. Afterwards, put it directly into the washing machine and wash it at 30-40 Degrees.

Add a half a cup of baking soda to your wash. Not only will it get rid of detergent build-up that can make towels feel stiff, but also eliminate any odour.
